About the job:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Functional QA Senior Software Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, specifically with proficiency in Duck Creek technologies. As a Senior QA Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, executing, and automating test cases for Duck Creek-based insurance software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that meet the needs of our P&C insurance clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing principles, extensive experience with Duck Creek testing, and a passion for driving excellence in quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

Following are the day-to-day work activities:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans with the functional test design & execution approach.
  • Develop test cases based on business requirements and system specifications.
  • Execute test cases and scenarios, ensuring thorough testing coverage.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and ensure accurate testing.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to drive efficient testing processes and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Coordinate with offshore testing teams if applicable, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and strategies to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Duck Creek Policy system testing and P&C insurance.

Requirements:

Candidates are required to have these mandatory skills to get the eligibility of their profile assessed. The must have requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Have proven work experience in analysing requirements, preparing test cases, reviewing test cases, executing test cases, performing Functional testing, End to End testing and Regression testing activities.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in testing Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims system implementations
  • Hands-on experience with Duck Creek technologies, including Duck Creek Policy, Billing, or Claims, is highly desirable.
  • Good work experience in defect management – defect logging, defect retesting and tracking it to closure
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance, including both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
  • Solid knowledge of test management tools such as HP ALM, Jira, ADO, Rally or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen diligence.
  • Experience working in Agile environment following Onsite Offshore mode.
  • Mentor junior QA team members, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to help them grow and develop in their roles.

Good to Have:

  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or Agile or Duck Creek certifications are desirable
