About the job:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer QA with 4 to 7 years of experience in SoapUI Automation for our P&C Insurance division. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of automated testing solutions, ensuring the quality and reliability of our insurance applications.

Responsibilities:

Following are the day-to-day work activities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of API automated test frameworks and scripts using SOAP UI or Postman for API testing within the P&C Insurance domain.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and development teams to understand business requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria for insurance applications.
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and strategy discussions to define test objectives, scope, and acceptance criteria for P&C insurance projects.
  • Conduct thorough testing of REST, RESTful and SOAP APIs to validate functionality, data integrity, and interoperability with external systems.
  • Verify API responses against expected outcomes, including data formats, status codes, headers, and payload content.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate API tests into continuous integration (CI) pipelines for automated build verification and regression testing.
  • Execute end-to-end test scenarios to validate the interaction between APIs, web services, and front-end applications in a P&C insurance environment.
  • Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and report defects to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Create reusable test assets, including test suites, test cases, and data-driven test scripts, to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Implement best practices for test script organization, parameterization, and modularization to maximize reusability and maintainability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers on test automation best practices, coding standards, and tools.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to drive continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to test automation and P&C insurance, driving innovation and efficiency.

Requirements:

Candidates are required to have these mandatory skills to get the eligibility of their profile assessed. The must have requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on test automation using SoapUI in the P&C Insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in SoapUI, API testing, test automation frameworks, programming languages like Java, Python, or Groovy and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, HP ALM, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of regression testing techniques and practices to ensure software changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen diligence.
  • Experience working in Agile environment following Onsite Offshore mode.
  • Experience in providing mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have:

  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, INS21/24, SoapUI or Agile certifications are desirable.
  • Any API testing/automation related certification
